This song needs a rapper

Feels very gangsta. Nice. Good title to match the tune, too. :)

It would be cool if you get a rapper to do impromptu on this. Since there's no 4.5, I'm giving a 5 and a 9.

To the vocalist: put some soul into it!

The entire band is doing an excellent job. Vocals need work. I'm looking for a bassy , deep voice. Or maybe just a little more soul into the singing. It's a weird thing... but you can feel the soul from the way someone sings, and, sadly, I didn't feel it from the vocalist.

Since there's no 0.5, I'll give a 9 (instead of 8.5) and 4 (instead of 4.5).

Here's the thing... you're good

I've been listening to some tracks from Joe Jackson, then I stumbled upon "Be My Number Two", which is an absolute classic. At first I expected myself to hear bland music on my first click today.

But no, I clicked on your song, and the result is a very soothing track. You should do more. :)

Hmm... to be nitpicky, the bass just needs a little tweak (increase the volume just a little). Other than that, you get my 5 and 10. Kudos, Piagnoa.

Not bad for a homework

So what do you call this? I mean what's the title of your piece?

Another one to say "Nice!" and some other comments

Now here's a list of things to fix, IMHO, to make this better:
- I think the guitar has too much distortion; increase the treble and reduce the bass
- Vocals need some polishing; I don't find anything wrong with the vocal style, but it needs refining

IF it sounds perfect, it's quite radio-friendly.

This rawwwwks!

After the 5- and 10-point gradings, here are my comments:
- Catchy, and fun -- love the ska-punk
- Vocals need work... maybe just a vocal remix - can barely hear the vocalist
- There's a part that gave me the impression that it's copy-paste (a quick skip?)

Other than that, great job! Hope to hear a cleaner version. :)

Smirne responds:

thanks!
Unluckily we don't have the original tracks, so it's hard to change vocals.. I agree the mixing has to be improved!

I suggest...

I heard some off notes, but, hey, it's a demo, right? Hope you get a clean version out soon. :)

As for equipment, try directly plugging to your PC or Mac or whatever, then capture it with an audio software with effects (Cakewalk would be nice). A nice microphone would also be nice if you prefer recording from an amp, then again, direct plug.

Good luck!

himenow responds:

I've tried that, believe me :P
It sounded too...hmm...what's the word...
Well, it sounded really dull ._.
I have a program that allows you change the sound for the guitar, but the latency is too high...
And I need a decent soundcard as well :P
Plus my grandpa seems to have...taken...my jack... (guitar to computer).

Sounds good; almost punk

Good music. Although I have to agree that it's not in the puk genre. Hmm... is there a rock genre.

Again, good job on this track. :)
