Here's what I think...

Hmm... this is almost 2 months old. Hope you get my review.

Anyway, here it goes:
- Try singing closer to the mic to get the natural bass from your vocals. Get a pop filter to keep your vocal recordings free of the mic booms.
- I don't have problems with the instruments used, but you need to EQ and pan these so that they do not disrupt the voices. It seemed that everything is centered... it makes the recording... swampy.
- I think you don't need to double-record your vocals (did I hear a triple?), but it seems to work at some parts. Try adding compression to your vocals for a more level feel.

Voted five, but 9 in the review. ^_^

kenubo responds:

Thanks sooo much for the recording tips! I've been using your advice for all my recent tracks, and its been working and sounding awesome.

What's that annoying sound....?

I think it's coming from the bass guitar. It's a low pitch, scratching sound... much like a clock or something.

Other than that, this is one great track! You got my 5, but that sound lost you one point for the review rating. ^_^

xerochi responds:

It's an upright Double Bass that making the sound. It's a fretless, so the strings vibrate against the fretboard. Thanks though. :)

Fix these:

Bass is delayed by... a quarter of a second, more or less. Double-check the timings of your tracks.

And I agree with Flatland; you have to raise the volume of your instruments.

Vocals fit, but can still be polished and shined. Try compressing it for uniform volume.

Naitzmic responds:

Yep. You're also perfectly right.
Maybe I'll do it later, as for right now... can't be bothered.

Thanks for the response though. It's much appreciated.

Not bad

You can save this for next year. ^_^

ShinDenjin responds:

Or come up with something completely new. Thanks for the review.

...almost!!!

There's no 9.5, but you have my 5 already. Awesome track! ^_^

Now to get that extra 0.5:
- Check your bass guitar. It's either too soft, or it's being owned by the guitar. In any case, it's heavy upstairs (mid-treble), but lacks that bottom-end punch. Maybe it's also in your choice in the bass guitar (sounds... hollow?). Try adding 3dB to the bass guitar, or raise the bass end of the bass guitar's EQ.

Again, this rawwwks! (Just a little more tweakin'...) ^_^

DarKsidE555 responds:

Ahhh, finally some good advice from a bassist. :D

Well, I'm still searching for a good and "heavy" bass tone but I'm getting there and I will most likely take this advice into my next project! :)

Sadly, I can't tweak anymore on this, because I deleted all the project files by accident. :(

Shit happens I guess, though I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Good concept, needs polishing

The melodies are interesting, but there are a lot of points that feel empty. Also, I think it would be better if you had faster transitions. It's important to keep your audience interested.

Here's a tip: try listening to that song 50 times straight. If you got bored, then something has to be fixed.

Hope this helps. ^_^

TheUrbanNinjaGirl responds:

i don't get bored with music, except country music and rap, they suck

Try this

- Add some reverb to the drums, and maybe drop 1 or 2dB from it.
- Add additional keys to the latter part of the song. Let your fingers play around; otherwise, you need a vocalist to provide a melody.

ArisingFlame responds:

- Alright, I'll play with the drums

- Actually, I was going to add a mellow guitar, and I'm in the middle of recording the vocals right now actually...

Thanks for the review!

You're currently my benchmark

Impressive track. Finest piece I've heard so far in NG. Keep 'em coming! ^_^

Marty256 responds:

That's quite the compliment! I'm new here, so i'm still trying to get acquainted, but i've been snooping around the audio section and there is definitely some great, great stuff in there. Many thanks for the feedback :)

Not bad

Some comments from the top of my head:
- The toms prior to the 33-second mark were overused. I think it would have been better if you only used them in the transitions.
- Nice set of keys.
- Title fits the tune.
- Very pop.
- No problems with the mixing.

5 and 9 for this track.

karpot responds:

Thanks and Ill keep your comments in mind for next time!

Well put; has listening value

I don't agree with the... distorted horn, I guess, that began playing at 1:31. Ruins the chill feel for me (if you intended this to be a chill track).

Other than that, it's a well-put track.

ArcaneClock responds:

Well, it was intended to be an ambient/DnB fusion piece.. the "distorted horn sound" is actually a commonly used PWM bass (although low in quality :p) found in many breakbeat/dnb tracks.
Thank you for appreciating the other elements of the song though.
