Hmm... need to tweak volume.

You need to boost the volume on the entire song. After boosting the volume... yeah, I can hear better now. At first, I thought everything sounded thin.

One thing though... there's a lack of energy in this recording. I didn't feel pumped up. Tweak the bass EQ of the song to give it more weight. It sounds a bit thin, methinks. Also try adding delay or reverb on the vocals (but I have to admit that, without effects, the vocals are good -- better than mine, hehe).

Hope this helps improve your track. Keep it up!

angerofthesystem responds:

I'll keep that in mind on our next ep.

There's gonna be a new song put up tomorrow.

Finally! Light and relaxing music!

With all the hormones flying around the AP, I've finally, FINALLY, stumbled upon this very fresh entry (you're the newest entry when I clicked it), and suddenly, I find myself leaning back into my seat, smiling. You made my day, man. :)

Good keywork. Made my toes tap. Five and ten for you. Keep it up! ^_^

Minoff responds:

Thanks man, glad ive made someone happy

Not half-bad for a 14-year old

But you guys still have a long way to go. Keep practicing, and hope to hear more from you guys. :)

Oh, I find the "dead" part in the intro (0:19-0:28) too long. I suggest cutting it in half to keep the excitement up.

misterLietaert responds:

Owkey Tank's for the review =D On 27/10 we will do a concert and we will record it =P So more of my band online soon!!

Lovely

Love to hear this track after a burned-out day at work. Sounds perfect. Awesome cover. :)

Metalcan responds:

Cool, glad you like it!

Ouch

I'm not sure what you're trying to pull off, but the shouting hurt my ears. No offense. You need to reduce the volume of the shouting, either by reducing the volume of the shouting track or by applying compression.

Hope this helps.

Frostvind666 responds:

Ok....I´ll try to do it in a couple of days....

Yup, I agree with it being credits music

And some thoughts from the top of my head:
- Great job with the detail that went into this song. I like the way it progressed as well.
- Good job mastering the instruments as well.
- The drum-ish sound (dunno what instrument that is... like a hollow steel drum of sorts...) is, methinks, overused. It got a bit annoying... maybe it'll be better if it only occurred 25% or 50% of the time. Just my opinion.

Overall, a nice piece to listen to here in NG. :)

ErikMcClure responds:

Hmmm, i suppose i did overuse the wood block a *tad*, i'll have to watch that next time :)

Now this is punk!

The awesome:
- Tons of energy! It makes you want to look for a politician and beat 'em up real good. A definite adrenalin-pumper.
- The lyrics are aggressive; suits the track really well.
- Yup, the vocalist can yell.
- Instruments are fast, and loud, and good, and awesome!

The tweakies:
- The overall sound is thin. I think it needs a bass tweak at the EQ.

The verdict:
- Awesome. You got my respect. 5, 10 (could've been 9.5, but, heck with the audio quality...), and fav'd!

SwashieB responds:

Ultimate thanks! Remember to keep checking on us... new stuff coming soon!

Calming and relaxing

I liked this loop. Neatly made, and, as previously mentioned by the many others that had reviewed this song, the looping is seamless (or really, really almost unnoticeable).

The phased instrument is out-of-the-blue (mark of originality?), but I have to admit that IMO it felt out of place. It sort of gave me an off-feel to the overall track. If I were the one doing this track, I'd slow down the phaser. (Side note: I have an inclination for pop.)

Overall, it's a loop that's almost perfect for playing repetitively for a long time. You get 5 and 9. Good job! ^_^

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

I'll have to reload this and try it with a slower phased riff...or maybe use both and make a full track....anyways thanks for the suggestion, nice comments, and good numbers! appreciate it.

Not bad

The good:
- Well put. Might need to tweak the panning, though.

The bad:
- Lacks the X-factor that will make me listen to it over and over.

ArisingFlame responds:

Tweak the velocities to make it sound more "real"

This is a nice track to unwind onto. Makes my work stresses go away.

Now, you can still fine-tune the instruments. You can hit some notes more gently, especially the guitar, to keep that relaxing feeling going. The sudden loudness kinda, well, gives that "irk... okay, back to relaxation..." mood. Deposited a five, but only 9 here since there's room for improvement.

Now, I see you got a fun bunch doing reviews for you. Here's what I think: your comment can be a bit misleading (since I think they expected a TOTALLY live recording), though still politically correct.

What's my stand on live-recorded MIDI? I don't care. Make music, make me feel pleasant things, you score. If someone rants "oh, those aren't real!", well... they're just making an excuse to vote low. If you can get the synthetic to appear real, then cool -- bonus points for you.

So why my long response? Because I do synthesized recordings, too. And unless you have a sharp sense of hearing and feel, you won't notice it.

Anyway, good luck tweaking, and make more music. Gonna visit your page once in a while. ;)

Bosa responds:

Yeah, I had to use a soundfont with the guitar because it was all I had.. and it was the only realistic one I had. But, thanks for the review. Don't worry, my music will keep coming.
