Another good, low-bitrate song

The opening riffs remind me of RATM's "Bombtrack", and the funk parts remind me of RHCP.

Vocals need polishing (don't we all do...), but it's a strong voice that can hit the high notes. Other than that, good mixing and instrumentation.

Overall: I like the overall composition of the track. 5 and 10 here.

Aside from EQ issues, this is good

Lacks bass. I think it has to do with the heavy compression (low bitrate).

Hope to hear a version with a higher bitrate. ^_^

And this only has a score of 3.91?

And this happens to be one of the better hip-hop tracks here in NG. On top of that, there's a rap -- something most hip-hop tracks here do not have.

Ok, now my rants and raves:
- Good rhymes. Catchy.
- Hmm... I think there's a touch too much reverb on the rap vocal. Maybe try reducing it.
- Nicely mixed.
- There are parts of the rap that tend to slide to the nasal side (have the same problem with my singing).

Overall: Great track! You have my 5 and 10. I'm upset, though, that it only brought up the score to 3.91. NGAP needs more tracks like this.

Makes me float

Nice piece! Well-put and well-mixed. I'm not sure about the static noise (little pops), but it still works... gives this satellite radio feel or sorts (hmm... that was vague).

Oh, and this belongs to the ambient section.

Good job! ^_^

It's a one-minute song

...and I voted five anyway, since I liked the main riff.

After that... erm... it kinda went downhill. The piano lacked reverb, and there's no... order.

Now, if what you intended to portray is the life cycle of a computer (cool at first, sucks later on -- 1 minute = 1 computer year; when it hits the pits, replace with a new one), then you did a great job, for as long as the audience understood your piece. (Of course, this is a wild assumption.)

Had fun, by the way. ^_^

adompeace responds:

I wasn't trying to display the life cycle of a computer. Nice assumption though.

I agree with G-vegas

You need to provide more points for progression. You may not necessarily change the chord patterns; you can also change textures, much like the progressions you did after the 3-minute mark.

Try this little experiment... add, remove or replace one element every four measures. Also try making a certain instrument appear only once in eight measures. ^_^

And, sorry for saying this, but it's still repetitive even as background music.

Hope this helps! Keep makin' music! ^_^ Pass by my page if you have time.

Nice progression

The good:
- I like the progression
- Well-put composition

The not-so:
- I didn't like the guitar tone (I was looking for some more distortion or weight)
- Mixing could be better... it sounds muddy at certain points.

Overall: Five and nine. ^_^ Good job!

Sounds good, but...

...if this is to break out into mainstream radio, it needs a catch phrase... something catchy to keep it in people's heads even after listening to it once or twice. That's the only thing missing in here.

Technically, it's a pro work, so no probs here.

Overall sound is good, but common. Yes, it can blend in the airwaves, but it might not rise to the surface.

Hope this helps Southcott. More power to you! ^_^

starvingdude responds:

I think SOuthcott wouldn't use this one to get on the Radio, but I shall tell Southcott about the catch-phrase thing.

Maybe common, but most common bands (Fall Out Boy, MCR etc...) get somewhere hehe.

Hahahahaha!!!

Okay, I'll throw away the technical sound crap reviews I usually give. I had fun. :-)

Five and ten! ^_^

Zakimations responds:

haha werd.
