Work on your vocals

Everything starts somewhere. For starters, work on your vocals. Then, polish the tones; make sure you're hitting the right notes with your voice -- OFF-NOTES are very noticeable and will hurt your song.

If you intend to have an acoustic setup, it'll be nice to have a shaker, an acoustic bass guitar, and a second voice. Work your lead vocals, and the best of luck to you.

Thanks a lot man. I really appreciate the advice.

Needs variety/progression

But yeah, I agree with the first two guys who reviewed this track. Interesting intro. After the 13-second mark, I felt that everything went downhill.

Hmm... try cutting each progression in half. Hmm... try adding industrial drums (although that might not be your style).

Visit the mixer/EQ, too. The bass is too weak; doesn't carry the rest of track. I switched from my JBLs to my Sennheiser headset -- can't feel the bass pumping.

Keep the intro the way it is; it's perfect that way.

Hope this helps.

Between the two songs Ive posted, your the FIRST one to offer advice that is actually advice Does no one understand the concept of creative critisim anymore?

Gotta hate 'em downvoters

For some reason, a good track like this is only getting 3 vote points from 4 votes (including 5 from me). It's just not right. This is an excellent track, hands down. Love the arrangement and progression. Easy listening for me; should belong to the FM radio.

starvingdude responds:

Downvoters just ruin the whole rating system, its stupid!!

Thanks for the info, maybe might get JTT to send in this track to a radio station when he has time (he did the drums for Corey Crowder's tour)

Maybe NG doesn't like this genre at all... :(

It's a shame seeing a 3.87 vote score on this track (even after voting 5).

starvingdude responds:

Thats cause NG'ers only like rap/techno crap not the good music that takes a while to complete...

Im sure it'll get higher scores sooner or later...hopefully

This belongs to a radio

Nice progression, studio quality, excellent lyrics... what's not to like?

Just one thing -- the end part (last 45 seconds) killed its pop appeal. It will appeal to rock fans, but not to the pop crowd, methinks. But don't get me wrong; it's brilliant. Fives and tens here, plus fav.

Yeah

That's pretty heavy stuff you got there, even if I'm not a fan of heavy metal. This would complement an action-packed flash animation (just wait for it).

5 and 10.

SleepyDreamer1 responds:

haha Thanks

Are the standards here that high?

After depositing a 5 and 10, I noticed the 4.19 vote score. It makes me think if the standards here are that high, or it's all a matter of "I like" and "I don't like".

It's perfect. (Well... it should be; you guys spent a grand on it.) Good luck on your contract quest. There's plenty of competition out there.

Anything that gets my head bobbin' gets a ten

I agree with Cyberdevil; it starts slow, but then it progresses to an excellent track. Good job!

v150r responds:

thanks! ;)

Excellent song; a little more tweaking

First of all, I like the progression of this track. You made me listen from end to end. The fusion of modern rock and piano/strings is terrific!

Now, just to nitpick:
- The bass guitar is hiding in the background. I'm not sure if that's what you intended. Bring it up a bit, and you'll get a more aggressive track.
- Sudden ending cut? Or was this intended to be a loop of sorts?
- Hmm... title?

Kudos for a great job! 5 and 9.

Good concept, but I disagree...

It didn't feel soothing for me. There was so much tension in the earlier parts of the song. Perhaps due to the noise from one of the instruments... I think remixing will fix this. I interpreted this as "the past to dissolve", but there are just some elements that come in too loud.

But don't get me wrong, the concept of this piece is good. I'll bet you just need to revisit the mixer. Since there's no 0.5, I'm leaving a 4 and 9.
